This Season's Fall Refresh
Five shades this autumn, each available in three different finishes, which is a wider choice than the shade list alone suggests.
Moab
Red-brown, and the closest of the five to a classic autumn brown.
Fig
Deep burgundy, and the dressiest of them.
Bedrock
Stone grey, the one that carries on into winter.
Peat Moss
Dark green-brown, closer to woodland than to chocolate.
Soft pink, the single departure from the earth tones.
Then there is the finish, and it changes a shade more than most people expect. Gloss gives you one flat depth of colour. Pinstripe adds a fine repeating line. Plaid is a woven check. A Gloss and a Pinstripe in the same shade are not interchangeable side by side, and the Pinstripe is the lighter-looking of the two in daylight, which matters if you are matching something you already own.

Autumn Shades
Autumn colours behave differently from spring ones. Warmer, deeper, less about being noticed and more about looking right next to a wool coat on a grey Tuesday.
Chocolate, coffee and espresso
The browns that define the season and the shades that sell out first. Espresso is the darkest of the three and reads almost black indoors, chocolate is the one most people picture when they think of an autumn brown, and coffee sits between them. All three come back in some form most years, which is why they are worth learning by name.
Cream
The quiet one. Works with everything, photographs beautifully, and is the shade most often overlooked in favour of a brighter colour that then gets used less. Beige sits alongside it for anyone who wants a warmer neutral.
Pumpkin spice
Warm orange with the edge taken off, which is the one people either love immediately or not at all.
Burnished gold
Brown and gold together is the combination the season is best known for, and gold is what stops a brown looking flat.
Burgundy and deep red
For anyone who wants the season without the brown, and the shade that reads dressiest of the autumn family.
Stone and grey
The neutrals that carry through into winter rather than looking odd in January.
